It has often been asked by those in the DD community...... if living an old fashioned/DD lifestyle truly brings happiness, then why was there such a backlash against it in the late 1960's? Why did the cultural revolution happen at all?
I believe it's because the noose was around society too tight. Domestic Discipline is just like anything else. It loses it's effectiveness when used too much. And the late 60's were preceded by an era where kids and wives were getting spanked and punished for really stupid reasons. A parent would spank his college daughter for getting a B on an exam instead of an A. A husband might spank a wife for accidentally burning dinner. And on and on.
So the youth of the time took a look at all of that. And they decided, rightfully so, that they did not want to continue in such a repressive culture. This is what created the cultural revolution of the 1960's and everything that came with it ( the anti-spanking movement, anti-Christ movement and so on).
To sum it up, those with old fashioned values and those with authority had been greatly abusing it. A person wasn't even allowed to be his or her true self, or to show his or her true personality, without fear of some sort of punishment. And spanking became the answer to everything. There was bound to be a major backlash at some point, hence the rise of the hippies.
People call it the sexual revolution, but the revolution itself had nothing to do with sex. Promiscuity was simply the bait that leftist leaders used to reel in the youth of the time, in order to their other ideologies. It was really an anti-DD and anti-church revolution. Fathers and husbands had taken their status as authority figures way too far. They had allowed Satan to do what Satan does best, which is to corrupt what is good so that it becomes bad.
It's for this reason that I personally agree with many aspects of the hippie revolution. It needed to happen. Had it not happened, wives would still be getting beaten black and blue for overcooking dinner. And it would still be socially acceptable. The cultural revolution may have been Satanic in many ways, but those with old-fashioned values paved the way for the revolution by abusing their authority
